The study of music is unattainable for many people. It is a growing concern in our culture. Many factors contribute to this including geographics, lack of State and Federal funds, along with over-emphasis from many schools to pass State exams.
As a private teacher my objective is to provide quality lessons teaching the study of the piano and music theory. Music is essential to each and every person’s well being. My goal is to further the interest and preservation of the study of piano. |

Matt Testoni, III is currently an instructor of piano in the Mid-Hudson region and maintains a private studio of approximately twenty students. He has taught piano in the Houston Texas, New York City, Orange County regions and served on the faculty of the New York Conservatory of Music. In addition to his degrees in Music, Secondary Education and as a Paralegal, he has always held a passion for music and the piano. Throughout his academic studies, he has consistently pursued his study of the piano. Mr. Testoni specializes in working with beginning and intermediate students but is equally at home with the advanced student. Through years of teaching, he has developed a pedagogy based on sensory awareness, sight-reading skills and the instilling of healthy muscle memory. Combined with teaching a healthy pianistic technique, he introduces the fundamental elements of music theory, history, sight-reading and the interpretation of the various musical genres. In his instruction, Mr. Testoni stresses the importance of focused and efficient practicing. He has devised an approach that not only challenges the advanced student but makes studying the piano enjoyable for beginning and intermediate students. Over the years, Mr. Testoni has had students perform for the New York State Solo Music Association and New York State Festival. He has been a participant in various lectures and master classes presented by such artists as Will Duchon and David Dubal and is currently a member in good standing with the Orange County Music Educators Association and the Central New York Association of Music Teachers. Mr. Testoni currently resides in Goshen, New York.
